‘Adrift on Paper Boats’ is an art exhibition and film screening which tells the story of what it means to be stateless, though the eyes of the Pakistani Bengali community – a community linked to the sea, that has been grappling with citizenship issues in Pakistan for over 50 years.
To be stateless is to live in a world of uncertainty. Through art, music, animation, and film, these events celebrate the rich culture and explore the daily challenges this group contends with.
On Thursday 16 November come along to the opening night of the exhibition 'Paper Boats: The Pakistani Bengali Story.' This event will start at 16:30 and guided tours of the exhibition will be available. Visitors will also be invited to make and decorate a paper boat and join the movement! Following this, at 18:00 visitors are invited to an unforgettable evening of cinema and conversation at the Adrift film screening and Q&A. Booking is needed for this, and the film is suitable for adults and children over 15.
The exhibition continues until 9 December at Rich Mix.
