Want to diversify the English-language texts you introduce to children and young adults, but not sure where to find them? Inspired by Black Lives Matter and Diversify the Curriculum movements? Struggling to find texts for the right age and reading level, in popular genres?
These interactive sessions will get you using free, internet resources confidently to discover diverse texts for children and young adults. You might be a teacher, parent, librarian, or looking for your own reading inspiration. Before the session, all registered participants will be emailed links to a PDF booklet introducing you to resources for discovering diverse texts in English. You will be encouraged to explore these freely-available, online resources before the event. The event itself will involve an online demo of the resources, plus opportunity for you to ask questions about using them, feedback on your experience of using them so far, and share tips with other participants.
