In January 1847, the former slave and leading anti-slavery campaigner, Frederick Douglass, delivered a series of landmark lectures at St. Mary’s Guildhall, Coventry. Engage with this fascinating story of Black history and social justice in this interactive workshop. You will learn about Douglass’ life, discover what Coventry’s archives can tell us about his time in the city, and reflect upon Coventry’s history as a site of political radicalism and social protest.
The session is open to all, but is particularly aimed at 14-18 year olds.
