This roundtable discussion will explore the challenges for women making theatre in Northern Ireland. The speakers are drawn from across generations and work in a range of roles; they include Carol Moore and Brenda Winter-Palmer (founding members of Charabanc Theatre Company), Seón Simpson (Skelpie Limmer) and composer and sound designer Katie Richardson.
The discussion will be chaired by Dr Shonagh Hill (Queen’s University Belfast) who has developed a podcast series, ‘Women Theatremakers in Northern Ireland’. You will have the opportunity to hear what has changed for women working in theatre, as well as what still needs to be addressed in terms of gender equality.
