Scheduled dates
Join Black Box Projects, Rouge Encounters and artist Julie McGowan for an inclusive creative gathering as part of Being Human Festival 2024 and celebrating 175 years of the Belfast School of Art, Ulster University.
This open and accessible workshop is a call to action by the disabled community to take up space and explore our creative voices. Working alongside our friends from the Belfast School of Art we invite you to join us in producing a visual manifesto using personal symbols reflecting our diverse community.
Physical theatre company Rogue Encounters will demonstrate the empowering impact of performance-based participatory arts practice and the efficacy of art interventions for mental and physical well-being.
The Artistic Director of Rogue Encounters, David Calvert, will guide us through imaginative movement and gesture in preparation for our unique movement signature with an object that means something to us.
Everyone is asked to bring an object from home that reflects who they are.
Multimedia artist Julie McGowan will share her experimental art practice incorporating wearable art and sign making in preparation for a performance art event happening on 15 November called Art Lives Here: A Manifesto of Art in Action also part of Being Human Festival.
Everyone is welcome!
