This workshop will provide students with the opportunity to view souvenirs from the British Empire Exhibition, which took place on the site of Wembley Stadium in 1924/25, with over 27 million people attending. Students will then write artefact label poems, which will be invited for inclusion in a Festival Anthology.

Students will gain new understandings of empire and museum culture, and can reflect on what it is to desire and possess ‘souvenirs’.

The class teacher will be given a copy of a teaching and learning resource to support Year 5/6 pupils writing poems on this topic.
