Come and join us for a walking tour of the landmarks that record the cultures and communities of London's East End. You will learn about the city's history and explore how it has been memorialised, following the path of the city’s old boundary with the Roman wall, to Liverpool Street and the heart of the old East End in Brick Lane. You will take in the complex landmarks that make up this boundary space, and also discover and interpret some of the literature inspired by these sites, learning how to read the layered memories of the city’s vibrant and diverse cultural past.
Please meet outside Trinity House, Trinity Square, London EC3N 4DH
The tour will end outside the Whitechapel Gallery, 77-82 Whitechapel High St, London E1 7QX
