The University of Leicester Centre for Victorian Studies presents ‘Life is a Library’ a 90 minute workshop for school years 5 & 6 exploring the literature read by Queen Victoria throughout her life.

This creative workshop will centre around the research of organisers from the Centre for Victorian Studies with activities based on books the Queen read or wrote throughout her life. From The Adventures of Alice Lascelles written by Victoria aged 10 to Tales from Shakespeare and Oliver Twist, the Queen’s life was punctuated by literature — her life as a library. As well as understanding more about 19th century literature and the life of Queen Victoria students will be encouraged to think about what their own ‘life library’ might look like.

Please note: this is a closed workshop open to Schools only.
