This event brings together local poets and academics for an evening of live stories and readings that reflect the multiplicity of Birmingham as a Commonwealth City. Over the course of an hour, the event will stage vital conversations about living in the UK’s second city, exploring its Commonwealth histories, local identities and communities, and the potential of more sustainable and equitable futures.

Featuring poems from leading and emerging voices in Birmingham's vibrant poetry scene and stories about the region's changing cultural landscape, this event will be an exciting and dynamic reflection of Birmingham's past, present, and future.

Open to all, but please book a place. Recommended age 14+.
