Come to the the Ure Museum to discover how the ancient Egyptians and Greeks considered death as a passage into eternity. Visitors will have the opportunity to role-play and interact with everyone who populated the afterlife in these civilisations. The event will recreate the Field of Reeds and the Elysian Fields and offer three different activities.
You can imagine going through the Egyptian underworld until arriving at the Field of Reeds and meeting Osiris. Talk to the gods, get your heart weighed at Maat’s scales, and play senet.
Only great heroes were welcomed to the paradise that was the Elysian Fields. Here you can talk to gods and fallen warriors.
At the underworld trails discover artefacts from ancient civilisations and learn how death and renewal were core issues for these cultures. Arts and crafts activities, new trails and handling sessions will be provided.
