Scheduled dates
A multi-generational workshop exploring women’s connections with their areas’ industrial past.
Based on research by the Welsh School of Architecture on the South Wales coalfield, this event is specifically for women in the Swansea-Dulais-Neath valleys. This multi-generational workshop will share and reflect on womens’ personal, family, and community stories and connections with the areas’ industrial past and heritage. Activities will include creative storytelling and collage to capture and interpret the landmarks of women’s memories and stories.
The event will invite participants to engage with their past to better understand and appreciate the contribution of women to their industrial history, and post-industrial future of the valleys.
This event takes place in partnership with the DOVE Workshop, located in the heart of the Onllwyn industrial landscape, an organisation in the Dulais Valley set up to support the community with education and training opportunities.
This event is part of Cardiff University's 2024 Festival Hub programme.
