Run over two days with A level students, this workshop will demonstrate different techniques and ways to tell the participants' own stories utilising the Jean Wainwright archive. Following a listening exercise, the students will work in pairs interviewing each other about displacement and migration. This will become an anonymised sound work.
Professor Jean Wainwright Audio Art Archive consists of over 2,000 audio interviews with international artists, makers, photographers, filmmakers and curators. 177 of her published interviews conducted for Audio Arts went online at the Tate in 2014. Her research centres on the interview as an intimate act between interviewee and interviewer.
