- HCB is on one level with step-free, level access throughout, entered via ramp from a smooth-tarmac car park, with 2 Blue Badge spaces 10m from entry. HCB has a wheelchair-accessible unisex toilet, short-piled tiled carpeting, some cushioned seating and is well, evenly lit. HCB has an induction loop system. A personal/portable system is available. Some staff have received 'Welcome All' training. Its tearoom is ramp accessible. The tearoom doors have limited width but an evacuation chair is provided. Some tearoom seats have arms removed for easier access.

We’ve taken photos for over a century, but Facebook’s landmark 2004 launch led to us sharing thousands of pictures online. ‘Picture This’ is an interactive exhibition at Bellingham Heritage Centre, exploring photography past, present and future, and inviting us to consider where and how we share our photos.
The inclusive, family-friendly exhibition, designed to appeal to all ages, brings a new perspective to Bellingham Heritage Centre’s extensive photographic collection and archive of historic images of rural Northumberland, and offers visitors the chance to view a replica photographer’s shop and handle vintage cameras.
Exhibition opening times:
- Thursday 7th - Sunday 10th November, 10:00-16:00
- Monday 11th November - closed
- Tuesday 12th - Friday 15th November - 12:00-16:00
- Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th November: 10:00-16:00
Two bookable, evening events will run alongside the exhibition:
- 9th November: ‘Take Hold of Your Story’ - readings of stories written by Elsdon Writers Group inspired by local photographs; short talks; photography-based challenges
- 16th November: ‘Take Hold of Your Story’ hosted in conjunction with the Redesdale Society - featuring talks about the exhibition, the history of photography and Bellingham Heritage Centre’s photographic archives; selected stories written by Elsdon Writers Group.
