Join Dr Keith Williams, Peter Marshall and the Wyvern Poets for an evening of poetry inspired by the political imagination of George Orwell.
Our innermost thoughts and feelings can be expressed and shared as a form of democratic human validation and resistance, even if Big Brother, the Thought Police and forms of Newspeak strive to shut them down. This year’s theme also provides an opportunity to reflect on Scotland's new Hate Crime laws.
The Wyverns will read from their latest Being Human booklet, In Praise of Thoughtcrime: Poems for 1984, and discuss their creative processes. There will also be audience Q&A and an open mic slot for any budding Orwellian poets.
