Derby was a place of industry, philosophy, and poetry in the 18th century. This event will explore how rhyme and reason were interlinked in local history, and how they are still connected today. Through a range of family-friendly activities at the Museum of Making, you will learn about this history by making poetry with natural materials and walking through the city, and discover how poetry is not only the creation of metaphor and verse, it also the making of place.

Booking is available but not required. Drop-in visitors are welcome.

This event was originally due to take place during November 2023 but was rescheduled due to flooding.
