Scheduled dates
Explore how towers can be landmarks that bring believers closer to God in their preparations for the Apocalypse.
This exhibition, with accompanying events, will take place at the Panacea Museum, housed in the Panacea Society's former headquarters in Bedford. The Panacea Society (1919-2012) believed their leader was the Daughter of God and their garden was on the site of the Garden of Eden. They looked forward to the return of Jesus Christ at the Second Coming and spent their time preparing for the coming Apocalypse. The Society built their own chapel and clock tower, and named their outposts around the world ‘towers’. The exhibition will consider towers from similar communities, including the now demolished Jezreel’s Tower and towers in the Bible.
The craft activities are suitable for everyone including young children. The talks and exhibition may suit people with an interest in local history, social history, philosophy and religion.
