There are lifts to all floors and level access to all public spaces, including galleries, the shop, café, toilets and other facilities. Members of African diaspora communities are invited to attend this session which aims to develop new understandings of the museum’s African collections.
Join Njabulo Chipangura, Manchester Museum’s Curator of Living Cultures, at this methods@manchester event. Njabu will let you know how the museum is changing its approach to narrating the past, and how important local communities are to these developing understandings and approaches to decolonisation. You will have the opportunity to handle objects and share stories, memories and associations with other attendees.
By attending, you will help shape the museum’s understandings of objects and have the chance to participate in a film about this object handling activity and the museum’s ongoing efforts to decolonise its collections.
