At this beginners workshop participants will be invited to learn to crochet and find out about the history of women protesting with thread.

Throughout the world, women continue to birth in prisons, refugee camps, war zones and poverty. In the UK, many women experience their births as traumatic, and this can have long-term mental and physical consequences. Based on the ideas of craftivism and yarnbombing, the workshops will lead to a final exhibition consisting of granny squares donated by members of the public.

Please note this is a closed event for a specific group.

This event is part of a series of workshops taking place across the North West as part of this year's Being Human Festival. Find out more.
