- The building features a one-way system via the entrance on Wood Street and exit on Fleet Street with pavement/level access on Wood Street and ramp access on Fleet Street. All areas inside the building are accessible to visitors with limited mobility, including wheelchair users. There is a lift that serves all floors and accessible toilets on the ground, first and second floors. The box office, kiosk and information desk have adapted counters and accessible levels for transactions. There are disabled parking spaces close by on Wood Street and Bold Street. Using the Edge Hill University archive, this interactive talk and pop-up exhibition celebrates the research and achievements of over 1400 women whose education and training was hosted by Edge Hill College, Liverpool, between 1885-1909. The fascinating stories contained in this archive tell of women who became headteachers, influenced their communities, pursued careers and travelled the world, at a time when many women’s life chances were limited.
Experts will show you how to use the archive database yourself – perhaps you’ll search for your own great grandmother or great-great aunt? Join this event at FACT to discover more about these inspirational women and their impressive legacy.
