Using the Edge Hill University archive, this interactive talk and pop-up exhibition celebrates the research and achievements of over 1400 women whose education and training was hosted by Edge Hill College, Liverpool, between 1885-1909. The fascinating stories contained in this archive tell of women who became headteachers, influenced their communities, pursued careers and travelled the world, at a time when many women’s life chances were limited.
Experts will show you how to use the archive database yourself – perhaps you’ll search for your own great grandmother or great-great aunt? Join this event at FACT to discover more about these inspirational women and their impressive legacy.
This event is suitable for ages 8+.
This event is part of Edge Hill University's Festival Hub programme.
