This is the first creative arts workshop in the series of events “Recovering the stories of Hellesdon Hospital”. Taking place in the pop-up exhibition space, this artist-led workshop will offer imaginative ways to explore the selection of artefacts, documents and testimonies on display.

This event addresses some of the barriers of capability, opportunity and motivation to participation and accessing the arts when an in-patient in a mental health hospital. With the support of the partners at the NHS Norfolk and Suffolk Foundation Trust and the charity Hospital Rooms, the event will support individuals to learn new skills and tell aspects of their own experience and stories. Artwork made in this session will be documented and the creator can choose whether to add it to the exhibition.

This event is suitable for people with lived experience of serious mental illness currently at Hellesdon Hospital.

This workshop is part of a series exploring 'Recovering the Stories of Hellesdon Hospital', led by Norwich University of the Arts.
