2020 programme announcement
The 2020 programme is here!

Programme announcement
Today we're thrilled to reveal the Being Human festival 2020 programme. Despite the challenging circumstances this year, we've still got a jam-packed line up of free events taking place across the country, led by researchers from 81 universities and research organisations in partnership with artists and performers, museums and heritage sites and community groups and charities. The festival will take place from 12 to 22 November.
What to expect
In light of this year's extraordinary circumstances, for the first time ever the festival programme contains a range of online events including digital exhibitions, workshops, quizzes, talks and debates as well as socially distanced in-person events. Inspired by this year's theme 'New Worlds' there are events on everything from science-fiction futures, to immersive explorations of the past, to the role of the humanities in the present. At this year's festival we invite you to... explore the fantastical Discworld universe and delve into the Terry Pratchett archive; ponder the future of global capitalism; immerse yourself in the weather of past and future years; try your hand at making medieval ink; take a seat at an 18th century debate; have a rummage through the history of charity shops; create your own cabinet of curiosities; discuss the future of museums; reflect on the US presidential election and much more! Get set to discover new worlds from your sofa... or at a distance!
