Five years of Being Human
We're excited to share a special short film celebrating the first five years of the Being Human festival!
Being Human festival was founded in 2014 as a way to bring the latest research in humanities subjects to the widest possible public audience. We've come a long way in five years, with over 1500 free festival events reaching over 100,000 people and communities right across the country. This short film captures some of that festival spirit, celebrating some of the highlights and telling the story of the festival so far. A big thank you to festival organisers past and present and to those who contributed to the film.
Each year the festival...
- Partners with around 70 UK universities and research organisations.
- Supports over 250 free events in around 50 towns and cities across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
- Welcomes between 20,000 – 30,000 people to events.
- Collaborates with over 200 local cultural partners, including museums and galleries, heritage organisations and charities.
