Delivering your activity

This event has now passed. This event was recorded. Please contact us at beinghuman@sas.ac.uk if you would like to receive a link to the recording.

This Being Human masterclass will explore the practicalities of delivering a public engagement activity and help you think through your audience’s experience on the day. The Being Human team will share top tips on how to prepare in the lead up to your activity to ensure everything runs as smoothly as possible. The session will cover a range of topics such as setting up spaces (physically or online), creating a friendly atmosphere and conducting post-activity evaluation.

We will also be joined by previous festival organisers who will be in-conversation with the Being Human team. They will share experiences of delivering Being Human activities and the small details that create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

Throughout the masterclass there will be chances to get involved in the conversation and ask any questions you might have on the topic. You will also be sent a follow-up email full of helpful information and a toolkit on delivering inclusive public engagement activities.

The masterclass is aimed primarily at this year’s Being Human festival organisers, but will be useful for those interested in humanities public engagement more generally.
