Being Human 2022: planning your activity
5 July 2022, 11.00AM - 12.00PM
Planning your activity
This event has now passed. This event was partially recorded. Please contact us at beinghuman@sas.ac.uk if you would like to receive a link to the recording.
The first in a series of online masterclasses, this session will discuss how to turn a public engagement concept into reality and provide an overview of this year’s festival plans. The Being Human team will give their top tips for bringing about a great festival activity, guiding you through some of the key things to do now so that your activity is a success come November.
The session will also look at putting equality, diversity, and inclusion at the heart of your initiative. There will be advice on how to embed these considerations into your project from planning through to delivery.
Attendees will be emailed a follow-up pack with helpful resources and toolkits which are full of information for putting together a humanities public engagement activity.
The session is aimed primarily at this year’s Being Human festival organisers (and those still thinking of getting involved), as well as those interested in public engagement in the humanities. Throughout, there will be opportunities to discuss best practice in public engagement with research and how to create initiatives that will appeal to your intended audiences.
