Promoting your activity
This event has now passed. This event was recorded. Please contact us at beinghuman@sas.ac.uk if you would like to receive a link to the recording.
This masterclass will explore the best ways to promote your public engagement activity so that it reaches your intended audience and has the maximum impact.
The Being Human team will share top tips on communicating your activity to public audiences and will be in-conversation with previous festival organisers who will discuss their experiences and the lessons they learnt.
There will also be a flash talk from Festival Director, Professor Sarah Churchwell, who will explore ideas for generating local and national media around your research and activity. A prominent advocate for literature and the humanities, Sarah appears regularly in the media and writes for both academic and non-academic audiences.
Throughout the masterclass there will be chances to get involved in the conversation and ask any questions you might have on the topic. Attendees will also be sent a follow-up email full of helpful information and a toolkit on promoting public engagement activities.
The masterclass is aimed primarily at this year’s Being Human festival organisers, but will be useful for those interested in humanities public engagement more generally.
