This training session will explore the essential elements for planning a successful public engagement event. Join this free session to ensure your audience is at the centre of your event planning.

Led by Cultural Heritage Learning Consultant Anna Salaman, this training session will demonstrate how to tailor your public engagement event’s content to your audience and explore how audience consultation can help to shape event formats and delivery. With examples drawn from across the arts and culture sector and previous festivals, this session will help you to consider the different ways your audience can inform the content of your event, at any stage of development.

This session is primarily aimed at those taking part, or thinking of taking part, in Being Human Festival, but is open to all.

Anna Salaman

Anna Salaman is a Cultural Heritage Learning Consultant with 30 years of experience working in museums, cultural venues and hands-on spaces, nationally and internationally. Her practice includes developing and delivering programmes, interpretation, evaluation and visitor research for a wide range of venues, ensuring that content meets the preferences and requirements of target audiences.

Joining the event

This event is free, but booking is required. It will be held online and joining details will be circulated via email to registered attendees.

This event is part of a series of Being Human Festival training sessions exploring public engagement with research. The sessions will be led by expert facilitators with experience in their field and the Being Human Festival team. While the sessions are primarily aimed at those taking part, or thinking of taking part, in Being Human Festival, they are open to all. The sessions run from April to October 2024.
